Does not compare to the 9920 I bought the last time I wanted a 17". There is no external adjustable voume or volume lights. It looks bland and empty and to me cheap. The keyboard is soft and moves when you press the keys. It does't feel like it will last. The outside of the computer looks fine but the inside is very plain. I wish I had kept my 9920. HP said all their computers now have this keyboard and this look. I think it was a cost cutting measure and I'm so disappointed about HP.

This computer is amazing with the 17.3" screen and the 8 GB RAM and the 4 core I7 and the 6770 graphics card. i had only a few problems with the computer and one being that the drivers and hp simplepass for the built in fingerprint reader have never worked on it even after chatting with the hp tech support. all it does is flash when I swipe over it. the software hp simplepass just opens and crashes instantly. this computer also runs very hot while gaming and it all blows out the left side. another thing is there is a spot on the trackpad that shuts off the trackpad and light around it when you double tap it however there is no way to just shut off the light around the trackpad. another issue I had with this computer is that there is no raid capabilities to help improve the boot speed and the hard drive speed. the windows experience index for this computer is 5.8 for the hard drive, 6.6 for graphics, 6.6 for 3d graphics, 7.4 for the processor, and 7.6 for the ram. this computer is advertised ad 1 TB hard drive and this is 2 500 GB hard drives and they are completely seprate. also not a fan of the arrow kes as the up and down are squeezed into the size of one key.

I bought this computer a few weeks ago and it is everything it promises and more. It is one of the few laptops with great sound. I love the keyboard, speed, fantastic screen, mouse, etc. I'm not going to go into the technical specs...just a great overall computer for anyone who wants good video and audio. I did find this a little cheaper elsewhere so the price may drop here, too. Go to a brick and mortar store to play with it to be sure it's what you want. I looked at a hundred before choosing this one. It is an HP so be sure to get an extended warranty! But Amazon is a great place to buy.
